Contors Hunting Map App Launches on iOS, Android and Web With 4 Industry Firsts

Four industry firsts: terrain-aware wind and scent modeling, an AI assistant that runs the app, a bedding-security heat map, and landscape field dashboards

MADISON, AL, UNITED STATES, September 24, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Contors has launched its whitetail deer hunting map app on iOS, Android and the web, combining the tools serious deer hunters expect with four capabilities no other hunting app offers.

Contors ships with five basemaps and more than fifteen layers covering all 50 states: satellite and aerial imagery, topo maps, USGS 3DEP LiDAR bare-earth relief over any basemap, contours, parcel boundaries with landowner names, public land, water, crops and soils — all offline.

On that foundation sit the tools that manage a season. Hunters mark stands, cameras, food, bedding, sign and access, record tracks and measure acreage. Properties are shared with a club, family or friend under permission sets the owner controls, and single markers with only the people chosen. Stand reservations keep two members off the same setup, and a hit list tracks target bucks by age and sightings.

Four industry firsts

Wind and scent modeled across terrain. Hunting apps report wind the way a weather app does: a direction and a speed off the nearest station, printed in a panel. Contors solves the wind field across the shape of the ground, draws it on the map, and renders the hunter’s scent as a plume moving through it — spilling into draws, wrapping points, pooling where the air goes slack. At dawn and dusk, when thermals overpower the prevailing wind, it identifies the air as wind-driven, thermal or mixed and follows whichever governs. The plume runs from every stand at once, from the hunter’s live position as he walks in, and along a recorded track.

Scout, an AI assistant that runs the app. Scout is not a chat window bolted onto a map. It operates every function on the hunter’s behalf — setting markers, drawing routes, switching layers, logging sightings and ranking every stand against the forecast for a given date and hour. It also carries deep whitetail and land management expertise, from bedding behavior and rut phases to plot species and soil pH, answered against the hunter’s own ground.

The Buck Refuge Model. A proprietary heat map grading every acre for how secure a mature buck feels there, computed from bedding cover, food, water, terrain and the hunter’s own intrusion. Mapping an access trail or a parking spot re-grades the interior accordingly.

Scout Mode and Hunt Mode. Two full-screen landscape dashboards, one for the drive in and one for the sit, both with a red night theme. No other hunting app offers one.

Supporting them is a 16-day hunting forecast — a daily movement rating, prime windows by the hour, barometric trend, the next front, the next rain and legal light, modeled for the property’s own coordinates — and Buck Score, which estimates a buck’s age and score from a photo.
